Software Engineer - embedded, web & server

Our client is an established, stable North Bay manufacturing company with a great environment, friendly co-workers, and a dedicated management team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a well-rounded software engineer looking for a long term "home." The location is approximately 40 miles north of San Francisco. This regular hire, full-time, on-site position includes an attractive employee benefit package, and is exclusively represented by Susan Russo and Assoc.

The Software Engineer position entails firmware design and development for embedded microcontrollers as well as design, implementation, testing and support of server-side and web applications. The Software Engineer will be an integral part of the product development team for a series of networked power management products with a customer-facing website that provides access, control and data logging via the internet.

General Requirements:

· BSEE or BSCS degree or equivalent experience

· 4+ years design experience in a product design and development environment

· 4+ years experience with web application development


Required Skills:

· Must have working knowledge of and experience in 8/16/32 bit microcontroller systems design and firmware development in the C programming language. Experience with Atmel AVR, Cypress PSoC and Freescale Coldfire microcontroller families is a plus.

· Proficient in HTML, CSS, PHP, AJAX & JavaScript

· Experienced with SQL databases (MySQL preferred)

· Experienced with networking technologies including TCP/IP, Ethernet, internet/network sockets, DHCP

· Experience with Unix/Linux administration and application development

· Good verbal and written and oral communication skills and an ability to work with others professionally, both internally and externally.

· Motivated self-starter who can take ownership of projects, lead by example and solve problems.


Highly Desired Skills:

· Familiar with open source technologies

· Experienced in schematic capture, PCB routing and other related EDA tools (Altium a plus)
