The Software Engineer position entails firmware design and development for embedded microcontrollers as well as design, implementation, testing and support of server-side and web applications. The Software Engineer will be an integral part of the product development team for a series of networked power management products with a customer-facing website that provides access, control and data logging via the internet.
General Requirements:
· BSEE or BSCS degree or equivalent experience
· 4+ years design experience in a product design and development environment
· 4+ years experience with web application development
Required Skills:
· Must have working knowledge of and experience in 8/16/32 bit microcontroller systems design and firmware development in the C programming language. Experience with Atmel AVR, Cypress PSoC and Freescale Coldfire microcontroller families is a plus.
· Proficient in HTML, CSS, PHP, AJAX & JavaScript
· Experienced with SQL databases (MySQL preferred)
· Experienced with networking technologies including TCP/IP, Ethernet, internet/network sockets, DHCP
· Experience with Unix/Linux administration and application development
· Good verbal and written and oral communication skills and an ability to work with others professionally, both internally and externally.
· Motivated self-starter who can take ownership of projects, lead by example and solve problems.
Highly Desired Skills:
· Familiar with open source technologies
· Experienced in schematic capture, PCB routing and other related EDA tools (Altium a plus)
